Earth Month at URBANGREEN: Walk With Us for Clean Water

At URBANGREEN Winchester, we believe in using our voice, space, and community to do good — and Earth Month is the perfect time to put that into action. Every April, the Aveda network comes together to celebrate the brand’s mission of caring for the world we live in, from the products we use to the causes we support.

Throughout the month, Aveda salons, spas and institutes across the globe raise funds and awareness for clean water initiatives. From creative events like Catwalks for Water and Trashion Shows, to educational outreach and guest engagement, it’s a month of purpose and passion. To date, Aveda Earth Month has raised more than £50 million, and over £6.3 million from Aveda Institutes alone.

We’re proud to have contributed over the years — not only through URBANGREEN, but through the many salons I’ve owned across decades of Earth Months. Together with our teams and guests, we’ve raised money, shared knowledge, and stayed committed to the cause. This year, I want to do something meaningful again — with your help.

To mark Earth Month 2025, we’ve organised a guided walking tour of Winchester with two professional local tour guides. The 90-minute walk will begin outside the salon and end back with us around 11:30am. It’s been specially designed for those who are already familiar with the city, with a focus on hidden stories, curious facts, and new perspectives.

This walk is symbolic too — on average, women and children in developing countries walk 3.7 miles every day just to access water, often unsafe to drink. By joining us, you’re taking steps on behalf of those who make that journey every day, and helping to fund real, lasting solutions.

All proceeds go to our Earth Month partner, charity: water, whose mission is to bring clean and safe drinking water to every person on the planet. I will personally cover the £220 cost of the tour guides — so 100% of what we raise will go to the cause.

I’m asking all our team members — and encouraging all our guests — to engage with this event. Please help us spread the word, invite people along, or support by donating. There are up to 40 spaces, and we have sponsorship forms printed at the salon to keep a record of those participating or giving.
